Accessibility

People with reduced mobility

A fixed access ramp is available in the courtyard for a door width of 74 cm. Another removable access ramp is available for wider wheelchairs, on request. Access to the foyer is via the Resto entrance under the porch. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance from our reception staff.

Shows at L’Envers are accessible to PRMs, but there is no toilet. The entrance to the Salle L’Envers is via rue des Tanneurs 87 (1000 Brussels). It is 30 metres from door to door.

Shows performed in the small auditorium (at the back of the theatre) are not wheelchair accessible. To access the small auditorium, you must go through the back of the theatre (rue Vanderhaegen 30, 1000 Brussels). There are 160 metres from door to door. There is then a flight of stairs to get there.

If you are coming from the rue Blaes, it is best to go via the rue Saint-Ghislain (rather than the rue des Capucins, where the pavements are impractical).

Hearing accessibility

The shows in the main auditorium (with and without text) are accessible to the hearing impaired via a high-definition headphone system. This system, which operates via wifi, picks up all the sounds of the show – music, background sounds, actors’ voices – which are picked up by microphones and redistributes them over the wifi network. Hearing-impaired spectators can use an application to access these sounds and choose the volume. You can download the application directly by following this link. Headphones and smartphones are available free of charge.

We also provide balloons so that you can feel the vibrations caused by the sounds of the shows.

To take advantage of a balloon or the high-definition headphone system, you can go to the ticket office on the evening of the show and our reception staff will take care of you.

Specific systems

We want to provide access to certain shows through special arrangements. For example, we have already worked with the I See Foundation, which has offered a translation of images. We have also offered live translation in LSFB.

European Disability Card

Holders of the European Disability Card benefit from our reduced rate, as does the person accompanying a disabled person.
